Drift Creek Falls

If you happen to be traveling from Portland area south and to the coast and want to take the extra scenic route I wouldn’t give up the chance to check out Drift Creek Falls.  A fairly easy and short (3 mi out and back) hike on a well maintained trail to see a beautiful 100 foot waterfall from a not-as-sketchy as it sounds suspension bridge is absolutely worth the trip.  And the 10 mile drive on a paved forest service road (FS-17) will provide beautiful scenery and bring back memories of childhood go-karting.  But do be careful, although we saw very few people in February, the occasional log truck can make the blind switchbacks a bit more exciting!
